Broken laptop

Coming up to this weekend I was working on a couple of long articles for the site. But, last Saturday my laptop makes a "plionk" sound, tries to re-boot, and ... fails. My hard drive has died.

With that, I've lost all my article drafts, photos, and other materials I use to manage this site. And much of the rest of my life.

Currently, I'm researching data recovery services and back-up drives. The latter a purchase I've been very near to do for the last few months. Clearly this is Murphy's Law in action! I'm confident of getting the data back, though I don't know how long it will take.

The laptop itself should be fixed with a new hard drive. So it should be back up to speed in a few weeks.

*Sigh*

New articles may be few and far between for a bit.
