No fees means cheaper flights for you

The latest travel booking sites to drop their fees are Orbitz and CheapTickets. The good news is that the booking fees they used to add is now no more. This means they join the company of Expedia and Travelocity in reducing the costs of airfare.

Unfortunately, both are only running these promotions until 31 May 2009, so better book before then.

Orbitz also has a nice Price Assurance, which means that if you book a flight, and a later Orbitz customer book the same flight for less, they'll automatically refund the price difference to you.

CheapTickets is also running a deal which gets you $20 off weekend rates on Budget car rentals, which can help out a little more with your travel costs.

For both companies, there are some terms & conditions associated with this:

  • Valid for flight-only reservations from April 7, 2009 through May 31, 2009
  • Excludes multi-carrier itineraries
  • Excludes flights originating outside the U.S., Canada, Mexico & Caribbean
  • Qualifying flights will show a "no booking fees" label in search results

These fantastic deals won't last very long, and with the current airfare price wars going on, now's the time to book a flight. Here's a few more tips on booking cheap flights.
