Stop wasting money in UK restaurants

Faced with a recession, British restaurants are resorting in droves to money-off vouchers to attract new customers. Before eating out, savvy Brits search online for restaurant vouchers (also known as printable vouchers), these coupons are downloaded from voucher codes websites printed out at home then handed over in the restaurant.

U.S. tourists can now find all these restaurant vouchers in one place at VoucherCodes.co.uk's useful Restaurant Vouchers page which brings together the all the best restaurant vouchers from across the UK.

Typical offers include two main meals for the price of one; half price food bills and kids eat free. The potential savings are significant, particularly for families.

U.S. tourists made 2.96 million visits to the UK last year, according to the International Passenger Survey. While more French and Germans came to Britain in that time, no-one spent more than Americans, who handed over $3.66 billion in total.

Several millions of those dollars were wasted through a simple lack of local knowledge. Anyone can use a restaurant voucher, if they know where to find them, and they are completely free.

A family of four dining at Pizza Express, a stylish and family-friendly pizza restaurant chain, could easily spend $125. With a two-for-one printable voucher, this could be slashed by almost $35. An even better deal can be had at La Tasca, a popular Spanish restaurant chain. La Tasca's 50% off food voucher would save the same family almost $50 on a typical bill of $125 that included drinks.

It's not just the major restaurant groups getting in on the act. There's 30% off at celebrity chef Marco Pierre White's elegant Stamford Bridge restaurant. An increasing number of independent restaurateurs around the UK are also using vouchers to lure in the budget conscious. French restaurant L'Eglise in Brighton offers two courses and a carafe of wine for two people in beautiful surrounds for just over $40 with its voucher.

Due to the rapid rise in popularity of vouchers, the restaurant industry has yet to produce official figures on their use. However, the British Hospitality Association estimates that as many as 10,000 UK restaurants are now issuing money off vouchers.

The money-saving website also offers a range of vouchers for cheap days out, including 2 for 1 entry to The Dungeons, London and discount tickets for West End shows.

Over 1.5M people visit VoucherCodes.co.uk each month to save money dining out and shopping online. VoucherCodes.co.uk is constantly updated with the latest restaurant vouchers, online voucher codes and deals for over 2,000 of UK's biggest stores and favourite restaurants.
