If you are in Mexico City on a Tuesday, stop by Avenida Pachuca, where vendors set up a charming outdoor market, the Mercado Sobre Ruedas, between Avenida Veracruz and Juan de la Barrera from 9 to 5. While there are many markets to visit in Mexico, this one is particularly clean and peaceful, since it is set up in the relaxed colonia La Condesa in Mexico City. All tables are draped in pink plastic table cloths, and identical cloths are hung above the tables for shade; on a sunny day the predominance of pink can be strikingly beautiful. Vendors here sell everything from children's clothes, pirated CDs, and ceramic pots to produce, fresh flowers, and take-away food. Sometimes music groups wander between the stalls, singing and strumming their guitars for tips.
