The Summer Moon Festival is celebrated in the autumn, and is the festival of lanterns and naturally, moon cakes.
The Oak King is celebrated each midwinter during the Montol Midwinter Festival in deepest Cornwall, England. This yearly festival starts off with an impressive procession to the oldest part of the town, the Lecudjack Hill Fort. These Rivers of Fire Lantern parades set off after dark, and feature thousands of revellers dressed in masks and carrying lanters.
London's Chinese New Year celebrations are a great, free, day out for visitors and Londoners alike. It's also one of the most child-friendly events: With a great parade, art and gymnastics performances, fireworks, and individuals performing for the crowds all over Chinatown, Soho, and Leicester Square.
