Can the way we think about the world and those we share it with really change how things are? I'm not in the habit of re-posting messages or blog posts, but this one caught my eye.

Your reality is the fulfillment of your expectations and beliefs.
Go back and read that over a few times to let it sink in. It is so simple but the implications are vast.
How and what you think will shape your world and your reality.
In the world of quantum physics particles behave the way scientists expect them to behave, this is now a fact that had been proven over and over gain. It is undisputed in the scientific community.
If you take an electron and test it for a particle then you will find a particle, if you take the same electron and test for a wave you will find a wave. The electron will behave the way you expect it to .
Since our world is made up of atoms (and electrons, etc), everything around you is created by how you observe it and how you expect it to be.
Problem is, you have all been conditioned for so long to see and expect things to be a certain way. The reality around all of you has been created by thousands of years of thinking and seeing things a certain way, expecting things to behave and act a certain way.
A chair is a chair because it has always been a chair. You expect it to hold you when you sit on it becuase it always has.
But these new particles we are just now able to see on the subatomic level, we have never seen before, so we have no expectation of how they are to act. And because we do not have a set definition of how they are to act, they end up fulfilling our expectations at the time they are observed.
Your world and your reality are made up of these same particles and they will manifest themselves the way you expect them to. This is your mind creating your reality.
Change your thoughts and you will change your life.
You don't think your thoughts are powerful enough to change the physical world?
Everything begins with a thought. Everything. The computer you are using right now began as a thought in someones head. The table it is sitting on and the chair you are sitting on, at some point did not exist, they did not exist until someone thought about them and then decided to make them. To bring them into existence. The phone, the clock, the fork, your coffee mug, all started as thoughts.
Our world and the way we live are nothing more than manifestations of our thoughts.
Everything that we as humans have brought into this world began as a thought.
You can have anything you want.
Think about it.
And think positive thoughts. As I sat in an airport in Hawaii tonight on my way home I had to listen to an announcement over and over again that we are at "Security Alert Orange". Do I need to hear this shit while I am leaving a tropical paradise? And all the while there was Hawaiian music playing over the PA as well.
I could not help but laugh at the irony of this announcement coming across while this happy music is playing. Even worse was the fact that there were a few families with kids waiting at the gate. Some people were reading, kids were playing, everyone was laid back and relaxed, yet we were forced to listen to this propaganda.
The only reason we are at "Security Level Orange" is because we created it (we as in the powers that be).
How shitty is it for these kids to be growing up in a world where they have to hear that we are at "Security Level Orange" over and over gain while sitting at the airport waiting to get on a plane?!
If our thoughts do indeed shape the world we are in (and we know they do), then what kind of world will be born out of this fear?
What kind of world will these children bring into existence if all they know is constant fear and threats?
These are very disturbing times my friends and we have but one weapon and that is our intention. We need to will a different path and existence for all of us. We need to focus our thoughts on compassion, peace and empathy.
This government is bombarding us with fear to create a state of fear. We are constantly being bombarded with images that create negative emotions. These negative emotions will create a negative environment for us all.
I know you guys probably don't buy into it, but what worries me is that we are in the minority. The majority of people do buy into it and they same as you and I are also creating a reality.
We have to combat this way of thinking, all of us. We need to focus our intentions on peace and harmony. We don't always have the time, but we have to make the time. I ask that all of you spend some time each day focusing on positive emotions.
Repost this message to as many people as you can.
We can make a difference and I will prove that your thoughts can make a difference:
In 1988 there was a project called the "International Peace Project in the Middle East" and it was published in the "Journal of Conflict Resolution".
The participants were trained in percise techniques of Transcendental Meditation (TM) to create peace in their bodies and minds, on specific days of the month and at specific times each day, these people were positioned within the war torn areas of the Middle East .
They did not pray for peace, but rather created it, became it, in mind and body through the process of TM. To bring an intention into reality you have to act as if it has already happened, you have to become the thought. It is not an easy task but one that can be learned, this is called Maharishi Technology (among other things) after the great Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
During this window of time that the participants were at peace, terrorist activity, crimes against people, emergency room visits and traffic accidents all declined in number. When they stopped the practice the statistics reversed. These studies confirmed earlier findings:
When a small percentage of the population achieved peace within themselves, that peace was reflected in the world around them.
The Effects of the Maharishi Technology of the Unified Field
This prospective social experiment tests a new theory and technology for alleviating violent conflict through reducing societal stress in an underlying field of "collective consciousness." It was predicted that group practice of the Maharishi Technology of the Unified Field (the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program) during August and September, 1983, in Jerusalem , would reduce stress in the collective consciousness and behavior of Israel and Lebanon . Box-Jenkins Arima impact assessment, cross-correlation, and transfer function analyses were used to study the effects of changes in the size of the group on several variables and composite indices reflecting:
- the quality of life in Jerusalem (automobile accidents, fires, and crime)
- the quality of life in Israel (crime, stock market, and national mood, derived from news content analysis), and
- the war in Lebanon (war deaths of all factions and war intensity, derived from news content analysis).
Increases in the size of the group had a statistically significant effect in the predicted direction on the individual variables and on all composite quality-of-life indices. The effects of holidays, temperature, weekends, and other forms of seasonality were explicitly controlled and could not account for these results. Cross-correlations and transfer functions indicated that the group had a leading relationship to change on the quality-of-life indicators, supporting a causal interpretation.
Read that last line again:
Cross-correlations and transfer functions indicated that the group had a leading relationship to change on the quality-of-life indicators, supporting a causal interpretation.
This means that the thoughts of these people made a difference.
This hold true for all thought and all intention. It has been proven now over and over again and there is now a ton of research to support it.
It is time for us to take our world back.
