WorldBeat Center, San Diego

WorldBeat Center in downtown San Diego, California is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving indigenous cultures of Africa and the rest of the world through Music, Art, Dance, Education & Technology. There are events ranging from concerts, movie showings, and celebratory music festivals and film festivals for special dates. The center is located in San Diego's Balboa Park.

The center also has drumming classes, African studies, dance classes, and several more. There are classes happening every day of the week and they are open to all people and ages. The full name of the center is the WorldBeat Cultural Center and the teachers for these classes keep in mind that they are representing the world’s indigenous cultures.

Health and wellness programs are also a part of this unique organization and they have different programs aimed at helping the community around them. A Women in Recovery Program, children’s programs, and even alternative health programs can all be found here. This is only a small sample as they offer programs for other areas as well, including a disabled vets program.
